Humanitarian Hall of Fame raffle includes trip to New York City’s ESPN Heisman Ceremony
Proceeds benefit expansion of Boise youth football complex and BSU sports- ethics curriculum
BOISE, Idaho, May, 7, 2005 – Boise’s World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame (www.sportshumanitarian.com), which promotes humanitarian ideals in amateur and professional athletics, is partnering with Treasure Valley Optimists Youth Football teams for the “Fantasy to Reality Football Raffle” to raise money to help expand their football complex and to fund a new sports-ethics curriculum at Boise State University. The raffle is a part of the local activities planned in conjunction with the Hall of Fame’s 11th annual induction ceremonies June 8.
Prizes include two tickets, travel and accommodations to a number of prominent national sporting events including mid-field seats at this year’s BCS Championship Game in the Rose Bowl, and tickets and airfare to the ESPN Heisman Announcement Ceremony in New York City. Other prizes include tickets, travel, and accommodations to a handful of prominent football match-ups around the country including the Florida-Tennessee game Sept. 17 in Gainesville, the Oklahoma–Texas Christian game Sept. 3 in Norman, a Dallas Cowboys home or away game, and the Bronco–Georgia game Sept. 3 in Atlanta.
The raffle kicks-off at 9am this Saturday, May 7 as a part of the initial Optimists Youth Football sign-up at the Optimists Youth Sports Complex at 9889 Hill Road in north Boise and runs through the summer with winners drawn August 27 at the Optimists Football Jamboree at Bronco Stadium. The Optimists Youth Football program is the largest youth football program in the area with 2,400 kids aged 7 – 12 suiting-up each fall.

About The World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame The World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame (www.sportshumanitarian.com), located on the Boise State University campus in Boise, Idaho, recognizes individuals and organizations from the world of amateur and professional athletics who, through their humanitarian efforts, distinguish themselves as role models in the community.
